Throughout the journey across the frozen island, Red is insistent of taking charge and doing everything himself, ignoring the advice of his companions. In The Angry Birds Movie 2, Red prides himself in being the protector of Bird Island and is wary of the pigs after their betrayal, until he reluctantly agrees to form a truce with the pigs. Red also showed bravery by protecting the Blue Egg from Leonard and managed to avoid being caught in the explosion from the TNT made by Leonard during the fight, which allowed the Blue Egg to hatch, giving birth to three Blue Birds. He tried to warn the other birds about this, but none of them believed him.Īs Leonard and the pigs steal their eggs and everyone apologizes to him for not listening to his words, Red shows that he is also a very serious and determined bird and demonstrates leadership qualities as shown when teaching the birds how to fight the pigs and to save the eggs. He was the first one to suspect that Leonard and the pigs weren't who they pretended to be and shouldn't be trusted.

When his mind isn't clouded by rage though, Red can be surprisingly intelligent and perceptive. It is such an issue that when he gets angry, he can't seem to control or modify it. Red's horrible temper sterns from being teased by fellow birds who made fun of his thick brow when he was younger (as well as the fact that, as an egg, he was abandoned by his parents and hatched alone in a Lost and Found bin). Red is quick to anger towards the other birds in Bird Island when they act clumsily towards him, though he is also shown getting angry over small things. Red appears as a red anthropomorphic Cardinal with red-feathered hands and his chest is light red instead of beige, his eyes are brown instead of black and the maroon spots in each side of his face is now one instead of two and has orange feet.
